Pat Robertson often puts his foot in it quite egregiously. Note, however, how the article misrepresents his remarks.
Article intro: "[Robertson] warned them on Thursday not to be surprised if disaster struck."
Robertson (quoted in article): "And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city."
A lot of qualifiers there.
Far from saying, don't be surprised if disaster comes, or even that such disaster would be caused by God, he said only — quite reasonably — why, if disaster comes, expect help from an authority you've rejected?
If Robertson actually expects God's wrath on Dover, he restrained himself from making an unhelpful remark in this instance.
