David, All Christians proclaim the Holy Bible as the Word of God. To me the Bible can be taken literally but there are some parts that are open to many interpretations and others in my observation, misunderstood, although I could be putting my own interpretation to work. I reason that the Bible is a relevant and important book and amongst its pages everything is explained and even foretold. It is not just a book of myths. Christians talk about the power of God’s word and regard the book as God’s Word but it is meant as reproof to test a supernatural spiritual path to make sure there is no error in the direction and application. Most rather than take the supernatural path use personal intellect and cannot meet the genius attributes that are required to understand a book that describes experiences of ordinary mostly uneducated people. With modern education many people can think they know because they can read and have good intellect but do not have the genius to fully comprehend. With me there was no prior understanding or even a thought toward Christianity, but a dream and then a 5 second supernatural experience showed me the essence or mind behind the bible before I ever read it. The Bible gave me huge reassurance because similar experience had occurred with others.
After the supernatural experience there is now no question in my mind as to whether there is a God or not. I absolutely know for sure. I am a mere human and something happened to me that could have put me in a mental institution if I had spoken to the wrong people at that time. It is dangerous if a view or idea is held against the prevailing culture. It is similar to inventing an efficient energy system or transportation method. People say they want it but just as in the industrial revolution many won’t when it means lost lively hood.
Knowing that God exists I look at everything as fitting in to a plan or pattern. Many good ideas have been developed by observing nature.
I did follow the link and this information has been out for a while but is like all work it takes time to consolidate. It was explained in the article how a change could occur In simple biological form the surroundings determine the comfort. If all the needs are met then no change occurs but a slow change in environment will bring the need for an adjustment. Stress occurs and causes changes or mutations that give all the biodiversity. What science seems to do is place every thing on a plate like meat and vegetables, and then weakly describe life but not explain it. I am not sure if the point I am making in the last post is understood or perhaps you may think it irrelevant.
What are indicated are a mind and consciousness and even a subconscious that orders and decides the required changes even in the least complex form. If mutations occur then the needs determine that. What this science is saying is that each species separated into what we have today. The Bible describes exactly that. And God said let the earth bring forth the living creature “Each according to its kind”. This could be thought of as a simple statement and stating the obvious but it is how science is now explaining it.
It is a long time since I read Lyall Watson’s books. He is a biologist and didn’t believe in a God from memory but his books were an interesting read. No animal has the refined intellect and ability the human does. While all biology seems to have instinct and an inner mechanism that can produce all manner of unexplainable feats, they aren’t as developed as the human. In fact the observation has been made that natural instincts have been diminished or even driven out in the more developed human cultures. Humans have their own power and intellect drives them. More emphasis is now on protecting the self as a mental contest with others from a comfortable physical environment that is being satisfied through the natural senses. Without instinct or an ability to feel the pressure of a need for change the signals will not get passed our own self empowerment.
Jesus Christ believe it or not demonstrated healing done in an immediate way. If evolution can occur over time from out of the need for change then the creator should be able to facilitate the same feat for a human in an instant. In fact God manifests everything we see instantly holding all in its appearance. Own personal self empowerment demonstrated in a will contest with other humans stops healing and the changes required to meet the challenge of a future.
The present situation in the courts is unfortunate but it exposes ego in both camps. It is harmful to the pacifying of all the traits that stop the development of a new nature. When Christianity and the world realizes the power of what it is all about this Way will have to go “underground” similar to Roman times.
