On of the best articles I have read on the subject is a feature article from the New York Times . The contributor is Mark Lilla , who is a Professor on the Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago . It is titled "Getting Religion"
In that article (7 links to be sequenced ) he deals with his "spiritual " Odyssey from an adolescence when he had all the answers as an Evangelist taking on all comers to a more reflective point in his life when , as a University Professor ,he matured out of dogma .
This is compelling reading . See if you recognise others around you in his personal narrative .
